Millenium Bambi for Michael
20 years after his first world championship title, Michael has been awarded with the Millenium-Bambi for his sporting and social achievements.
The Bambi is the most established movie and tv award in germany, previous persons awarded with the Millenium category have been Helmut Kohl, Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Helmut Schmidt and last year Bill and Melinda Gates.
The speech was done by 4 times world champion Sebastian Vettel: „Dear Michael, you have made Formula One popular in germany and created a real boom. I would have loved to give you this award in person. You have achieved a lot both as an athlete and a man.“
Michael’s manager Sabine Kehm and his long-time team boss Ross Brawn were receiving the award on behalf of Michael.
